Kiosk mode for display suites
Run a tour on a display suite screen that plays itself room by room when nobody is using it.
Kiosk mode is for a screen in your display suite or sales office. When nobody has touched it for a while, the tour plays itself. A touch hands control to the buyer.
How it works
- It opens straight into the tour. There’s no Explore button or enquiry form to get past.
- It plays a guided tour. It starts at your start view, then visits one view for each named room, in tour order. A card shows Guided tour · 2 of 6, the room name and a progress bar, with Touch the screen to explore on your own underneath.
- A touch takes over. Touching, scrolling or pressing a key stops the guided tour and the buyer can walk around freely.
- It starts again by itself. When nobody has touched it for the time you choose, it goes back to the start view and plays again.
- It isn’t counted. Kiosk visits aren’t counted in Analytics, and the Enquire tab is hidden.
Tip: name your rooms first. The guided tour visits one view per room name, so a tour with no room names only gets a handful of evenly spread views. See Name rooms.
Set it up
- **Open Brand kit** in the project and go to Take home and kiosk.
- **Choose Start playing after.** 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes or 5 minutes. The default is 1 minute.
- **Choose Time in each room.** 6, 9, 12 or 18 seconds. The default is 9 seconds.
- **Choose whether to Show “Take this tour home”.** A QR code in the corner lets buyers leave with the tour on their phone. See QR codes and Take this tour home.
- Try it. Choose Kiosk above the brand kit preview to watch it play.
- **Press Save.**
Put it on the screen
The kiosk link is the tour link with ?kiosk=1 on the end. It only exists once the tour is published.
- Copy the kiosk link. Press Copy next to Kiosk link in the brand kit, or next to Display suite screen on the project page. Open in the brand kit opens it straight away.
- Open it on the screen’s computer. Use its web browser.
- Make it full screen. Press F11 on Windows.
Warning: if the tour has a password, the screen asks for it when the page opens. It’s remembered until that browser tab or window closes, so after a restart someone needs to enter it again. A last day to view applies here too. See Password and end date.
