Name rooms
Give each render a room name so buyers know where they are, and fill them in automatically.
Room names show at the top of the tour when a buyer stands in that room. They also make your analytics easier to read, because visits are grouped by room.
Name rooms yourself
- Open Rooms. In your project, go to Set up tour, then Rooms. Every render is listed with its thumbnail, file name and level.
- Type a name. Click in the Room name box. The preview jumps to that render so you can see it. Start typing to pick from common names like Kitchen, Master bedroom or Alfresco, or type your own.
- Look first if you need to. Click a thumbnail to look at that render in the preview.
- Save. Press Save at the top right.
Renders in the same room can share a name. Leave a render blank if it’s a hallway shot or a view you don’t want labelled.
Fill in names automatically
Press Fill in room names. ArchviewVR suggests a name for each render. New names are highlighted. Check them, change any that are wrong, then press Save.
If some renders already have names, you’re asked first. OK replaces every name. Cancel only fills the empty ones.
Warning: naming by looking at each render isn’t switched on yet. For now, Fill in room names uses words in your camera names instead. A camera called Cam_Kitchen_01 becomes Kitchen, and Bed2 becomes Bedroom 2. The message tells you which way the names were filled in.
If none of your camera names contain a room word, you’ll see No room words found in your camera names. Name them by hand, or ask us to switch on automatic names.
Tip: name your cameras by room in 3ds Max, like Kitchen_01 or Ensuite_02. Then Fill in room names does most of the work. See Placing and naming cameras.
Show or hide names in the tour
Untick Show room names in the tour if you don’t want the label at the top. The names are still kept for your analytics.
Room names stay with their renders when you replace renders with the same file names.
